Coach Sheridan attended York High School and was a 3 sport athlete all 4 years. He was a member of the 1999 IHSA AA State Championship Cross Country Team and the 2000 IHSA State Championship Track and Field Team his senior year. He was also a part of 4 other top 3 finishing teams in the state. Coach Sheridan went on to attend Millikin University, graduating with honors and was a 4 year varsity athlete in Track and Field, serving as a captain and was All-Conference twice in the CCIW in the pole vault.Sheridan has been at Elmwood Park since 2007-2008 coaching boys distance and all pole vaulters for the track and field teams. He was an Assistant Coach for Wrestling and is currently the Head Boys and Girls Cross Country Coach. A dozen Tiger Pole Vaulters have qualified for the state meet since 2009, with at least one each year, a streak of 7 years running. Distance runners have also represeted the Tigers well by qualifying for the state meet the last 3 years in a row in the 4x800 Meter Relay. In his first year as Head Cross Country Coach, two girls and the boys team qualified for the state meet for the 3rd year in a row and finished 20th.
